Dwell on the Word, Not Your Circumstances
By Dr. Betty R. Price

The fact that He [God] sent Jesus to redeem us is enough for us to trust Him. Further, He has given us much assurance in the Bible that He will meet our needs and fulfill our desires if we live according to His Word.

You should not be somewhere by yourself, moping around feeling unfulfilled. There are too many people who feel unfulfilled in their lives. You don’t need a mate to complete you for you to feel fulfilled, because you are complete in Jesus. Contribute to the good of society while you‘re trusting God for him or her. There are many people who need your help, and you can get joy from helping them. If you have a good job and are a good citizen there are things you can do to help other people who may not be as fortunate as you, such as volunteering in hospitals, orphanages, rest homes, and places like that. If you have money in abundance, you can give money, food, and clothing to people in need. Or you can be a tutor for people who are struggling in school. At our church, there are some college-age students who serve some of our younger members, and it is a tremendous blessing to many of our families. These young people give of their time and energy tutoring children who are having learning problems in school

Of course, it goes without saying you should be involved with helping out at your church or giving time to some helps ministry. Every church and ministry I know of needs volunteers to help meet the needs of the people they are serving. At Crenshaw Christian Center . . . we constantly need volunteers to . . . minister to people who need this kind of support. We need all kinds of help with that. We never have enough volunteers.
