Christmas – It’s all about giving
By Apostle Frederick K.C. Price

As we see the end of another year and look forward to the fresh beginnings of a new one, I believe the holy season of Christmas – and its life-changing message – is an excellent time to reflect upon where we have been and where we intend to go. This is certainly true for our personal and private lives, but it is also just as true for ministries.

When we reflect upon the goals, projections, and other issues concerning the operation of the ministry where God had formerly placed me as the overseer, I am reminded of Paul's words to the generous Christians at Philippi, who so willingly gave of their substance for his maintenance.

Paul states in Philippians 4:17, Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.  He also makes a very important observation in verse 18: . . . having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

Notice, Paul says the gifts – the finances for his support, as well as other things that were deemed necessary for his care – came from the people through another person. In this case, a man named Epaphroditus.

The second illuminating observation Paul made concerning their gifts was that the gifts, while certainly a blessing to him, were, more importantly, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice to God. So you see when those dear believers gave of their finances, they gave to the Lord, and Paul said that he willingly received those gifts because he knew that, in turn, God would bless them for their giving.

I believe that your financial support of the work of this ministry is just as valuable in the sight of God as the Philippians' support and care of Paul was in God's sight.

Because of your faithful support of Ever Increasing Faith Ministries, we are able to reach more people. Christians are discovering their rights and privileges in Christ Jesus and God's Word. Those rights have always been there for us since Christ died on the cross more than 2,000 years ago, but many Christians didn't know it. Praise God, many people know it now, and are learning to take advantage of these rights. Through your financial support of the work of this ministry, you share equally with us in the many testimonies of the goodness of God that we receive throughout the year.

We receive letters and telephone calls all the time from people who are being helped through the Ever Increasing Faith Ministries television program, including radio, the website and the other outreach aspects. As a supporter and partner with us, you have a part in their victory. Without our faithful supporters, we would be unable to reach the millions of people that we do with the life-changing Word of God.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:41-42:

“And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward."

So you see, you are promised a reward from the Lord for sowing into the work of the kingdom to help bring people out of darkness into His marvelous light, no matter how small your sowing might be. That is what Ever Increasing Ministries is all about – and that is what I am all about -- teaching people how to live by faith and trust in God's Word, so they can know that life does not have to be drudgery, but there can be joy and peace, when life is full of His glory.

In this age of down-sizing and the reducing of services, which the current economy is fostering, we are making every effort to keep our program on the air on all the stations over which we presently broadcast. As good stewards of God's money, we have to keep close watch on those stations that are not quite fully supporting themselves.

I know what the Word can do for a person's life, because I know what the Word has done for mine. I encourage your prayers and thank you for your continual support. It is the faithful giving of our supporters that allows us to get the Gospel out to a dying world.

On behalf the members and congregation of Crenshaw Christian Center, and my family, I want to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a most holy, happy, holiday season and blessed and prosperous New Year.
