Concerning Lack of Finances
By Dr. Betty R. Price

Phiippians 4:19 tells us : And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  That is a promise from God. This is an excellent scripture to confess and stand on when you are believing for your finances to get better.  But you have to also, be doing what you can to give into the kingdom of God, as with giving tithes and offering. Tithes and offerings are not just to meet your needs of the local church but are also avenues by which God can return to you a harvest from the seed sown. You can’t declare that God is going to meet your need if you are not doing your part to meet the needs He is concerned about. His way of meeting your financial needs is through your tithes and offerings. If you are not in a position to tithe – in other words, to give 10 percent of your net income to the church, according to Malachi 3:8-10 – because you are a new Christian or you were not taught, you should begin giving offerings.  An offering can be of any amount until you are in a financial position to tithe. Tithing is God’s best financial plan for the body of Christ, and as soon as you are in a position to do so, you should become a tither.

Psalm 112:1 is one of my favorite scriptures, and I have raised my children on it:

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.  Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

You don’t have to have any schemes or things like that to get wealth and riches just do it God’s way:

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse . . . .  And try me now in this . . . . If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10)

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”  (Luke 6:38)

He who sows [gives] sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  (2 Corinthians 9:6)

If you do these things, it will automatically work, but you have to do your part.  You have to be a giver.
