Concerning Lack of Finances
By Dr. Betty R. Price

Philippians 4:19 tells us: And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. That is a promise from God. This is an excellent scripture to confess and stand on when you are believing for your finances to get better. But you have to also be doing what you can to give into the Kingdom of God, as with giving tithes and offerings. Tithes and offerings are not just to meet the needs of the local church but are also avenues by which God can return to you a harvest from the seed sown. You can’t declare that God is going to meet your need if you are not doing your part to meet the needs He is concerned about. His way of meeting your financial needs is through your tithes and offerings. If you are not in a position to tithe – in other words, to give 10 percent of your net income to the church, according to Malachi 3:8-10 – because you are a new Christian, or you were not taught, you should begin giving offerings. An offering can be of any amount until you are in a financial position to tithe. Tithing is God’s best financial plan for the body of Christ, and as soon as you are in a position to do so, you should become a tither.
