What About Problem Thoughts?
By Dr. Betty Price

When those evil thoughts come and tell you that you cannot achieve your goal, know that it is from the devil and cast that thought down. We should not dwell on things that cause depression and real sadness, such as the death of a loved one, past mistreatment and abuse by a mate, persecution, and disappointments. Yes, these are a part of life, but we have to know that life goes on, and we have to go on too. We can’t just give up, throw our hands up in the air and say, “Well, that’s it. I can’t go any further.”

I went through a great sadness when my oldest sister died. We were very close, and in many ways she was like a mother to me. She wasn’t sick or anything. Her death was very painful for me, but I had to do what God’s Word said do. I know she is in the presence of God and would not want to come back even if she could. She had lived a good life and lived her promised years, but I selfishly wanted her to stay here so we could have more time together. She went to be with the Lord and her husband followed a short time later. They had been married for fifty-four years. Even though I missed them very much, I had to let them go. I could think about them being gone and be very sad, but it did not and will not help. I just thank God that we will all be together again and there will never be any more separations.
