It is a privilege to speak to you today about Black History. As I do so, I reflect on Apostle Price’s landmark teaching, Race, Religion and Racism. It is so incredible to see that we are still dealing with the same issues that he taught over twenty years ago.

Recently as I taught a message one Sunday morning in the FaithDome, I reflected on an encounter with racism from my childhood that caused my family to move, virtually overnight, from Mississippi to California. My brother made a purchase in a store that had extended credit to our family and for no reason other than being black, the police beat him up. Consequently, my mother, who was half white and not intimidated, told the policeman that she would kill him if he touched her son again. This is something that a black person could not do in Mississippi in 1944 without serious repercussions! Consequently, overnight, we left the South for fear of our lives.

It is disheartening to see that the same injustices toward Black people are still happening today, especially to our young black men. But I am convinced that the only answer to these injustices is prayer and walking in the Word of God, exercising His principles daily in our lives. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we need to consistently walk in love toward our brethren, in hopes that the world will see this love and consider making Jesus the Lord and Savior of their lives. (John 13:35).

As parents, we need to be fervent in teaching our children how to respect authority. Not only that, but also teach them the way they need to carry themselves so that they are not targets for the works of darkness. There are so many distractions in the media, through smartphones, tablets and other digital devices, to challenge the proper upbringing that parents pursue in raising their children.

These influences have made their way into the minds and souls of our children as early as the elementary years. By the time they reach middle and high school, some parents want to simply give up. But believe me when I tell you – that is exactly what the enemy wants you to do! Parents, you cannot give up, there is a huge pay off when you press on to teach your precious children properly! God will back you up if you will not faint and do His will by confessing the Word of God over your children. (Gal. 6:9)

I ask that you consider making this scripture a part of your daily routine:

For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
(1 Peter 3:10-12, NKJV)

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing financial support of Ever Increasing Faith. We are reaching so many people through social media, cable and satellite TV – in addition to local television – because of your support. Speaking of social media, your input has helped us to grow in this new area of ministry by leaps and bounds. The testimonies we receive are inspiring and encouraging.

As you give, you allow us to continue to grow our social media audience and we are going to share this with you in the coming months. Social media is where so many of our young people reside today, allowing us to reach them with the uncompromising Word of God. Please continue to support us so that we may continue to reach them. I love you, God’s best to you, now and always.

Sincerely,

Dr. Betty R. Price
