Dear Friend,

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10.

One who devours is one that consumes. Christians know all too well how we can be consumed by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. But why do we have to deal with this? It is because of the original sin of Adam. This is the reason we need to receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, to be washed of this sinful nature and allow us back into the Kingdom of God.

But, we have an adversary who is good at his job of confounding us with our own flesh, that which we see, hear, touch, smell and taste. Yes, taste. Some of us taste too much and keep on tasting. It’s the same for any vice, be it sex, drugs, or rock’n’roll.

In any war, opposing forces are at work, each seeking to devour the other. Our adversary is the devil or Satan. He is seeking to devour us by any means possible. He starts with the family unit. He’s in our relationship to keep it from even starting. He has us at each other’s throats, fighting over nonsense. He’s in our bedrooms trying to make us fulfill our sexual fantasies. He’s in our wombs, to kill our offspring before they even have an opportunity for life and it goes on and on. What can we do about it?

"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the LORD of hosts. Malachi 3:11.

Now there’s a battle that’s already won, we have the Lord of hosts on our side. But, if we don’t know that or invoke this scripture when adversity comes, we’re left to deal with the issues of life in our own human strength. You see where that leads.

Knowing the attributes of Satan allows us to intelligently discern what the accuser of the brethren is always up to. Satan does not approach us with the obvious. He comes in ways that tempt us to see good, but in reality, they are cloaks of a hidden agenda to devour us. Trust me, you don’t want anything to do with Satan. His goal is to kill us, asap.

Hell is a real place of torment, originally created for Satan and his angels to reside. It was not God’s will for man to go to Hell, which is why He sent His Son to save us from sin. Satan’s goal is to take as many, if not all of God’s children to Hell with him.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." I Peter 5:8.

Notice it says like a roaring lion, meaning he’s not a roaring lion, but a wannabe. So how do we deal with the likes of Satan? The answer is so simple, it doesn’t seem to fit the battle we’re having. That is, we must do two things. One, submit ourselves to God and two, resist Satan, by all means possible. So says the scripture:

"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7. Once he’s off your back, you’re free to move about the country.

Today I encourage you to sow a seed into the global outreach of Ever Increasing Faith Ministries. Pastor Fred Price, Jr.

PS: The Scriptures teach that Our Heavenly Father blesses us in part so that we may in turn be a blessing to others. You cannot give what you do not have. It is so vital that we learn how to act in such a way that God will rebuke the devourer on our behalf so that His work has the resources to flourish. My wife and I appreciate your support and friendship and we look forward to hearing from you very soon.
