Prosperity: Good News for God’s People

The issue of prosperity is critically important in the lives of Christians, not only because they, like those who are unsaved, need funds to live on, but also because they also need an overflow to support the Gospel.

In fact, Christians should desire to live in divine God-ordained prosperity.

It may seem odd to some, but one of God’s major principles for tapping into prosperity is through giving. One could make a case that, whether we realize it or not, all wealth began with that principle. And God gave in a major way, according to John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son.

What a sacrifice, to yield your only begotten Son to save the lost in world!

This book review has run previously.
In turn, He advises us in Luke 6:38 to: Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

As Apostle Frederick K.C. Price writes in Prosperity: Good News for God’s People, even “the investment of one’s time, energy, talent and abilities without a guarantee of reward is covered in the law of giving.”

And he reminds us of Deuteronomy 8:18, which says, And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth.

Apostle Price also warns readers that this verse discounts perverting an idea into something sinful. Such thinking does not come from God, but Satan.

Prosperity: Good News for God’s People is a powerful book that dispels several false assumptions about Jesus and money.

For example, he notes that Jesus was a big giver who trained his disciples to be givers. In fact, although the disciples gave up their jobs and businesses to follow Jesus, they still had to be supported. Someone had to be responsible for their food, lodging, taxes, transportation, and clothing, among other things.

Where would Jesus get money? To answer that, Apostle Price explodes the myth that Jesus was poor. He reasons that it is not only likely that He had funds stored from childhood that the magi had given Him, but also from several years of working with His father as a contractor. And history suggests that there may have been several times more than three magi who brought valuable gifts to give Him as a child.

Further, it was well-known that Jesus had a treasury that Judas was charged with keeping, and that Judas was stealing from that treasury. Yet, the disciples never lacked during the time they were with Jesus.

Similarly, prosperity is ordained for God’s children, those who have confessed Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. And Prosperity: Good News for God’s People makes it clear that despite one’s genius in making money, no amount of it can purchase eternal life. But eternal life is given freely to those who accept God’s only begotten son.

When God told Abraham to leave his home in Ur of the Chaldees and go into a land that He would show him, He promised not only to make Abraham “a great nation,” but to bless him and make his name great. Because of Jesus, that blessing is not limited to Abraham. Apostle Price reminds the reader of what Galatians 3: 13-14 promises to those who are in Christ:

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

“The new system, then, is a faith-based system, not a labor-based system, and it is available to Christians – to believers, as Galatians 3:9 tells us:”

So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

Of course, Apostle Price deals with issue of faith. “All wealth originates in faith,” he writes. He also writes on the subjects of offerings and tithes, saying “Indeed, the tithe is one of the earliest forms of worship instituted in the Bible.”

For those who counter that tithing was under the Law in the Old Covenant and not a part of the New Covenant that Jesus ushered in, Apostle Price writes:

“I have repeatedly agreed with critics of tithing that we are no longer under the Law. But that is irrelevant when it comes to tithing because tithing is a law beyond the Ten Commandments and even the broader ‘commandments’ that Jesus refers to on manhttps://eifm.netviewshop.com/shopDetail/FPB62Ry occasions.  It is a law of God in the same way that gravity is a law – it is a universal principle.”

Prosperity: Good News for God’s People is a fine, gold-gilded softback book that sells for $10. But what Apostle Price has written on its pages is worth far more than any price you might pay for such a wealth of understanding of true prosperity.

In fact, this is a book that will absolutely change your ideas about prosperity, its purpose and how to obtain it.
