Thankful
One of the most alarming statistics in the world today is the increase in mental illness. This condition is the underlying cause behind senseless murders, strained relationships and a person’s inability to simply lead a life of peace and harmony. So many people experience inner turmoil and they do not know the reason why.

As blood-bought, set apart Believers of Our Heavenly Father, these things ought not to be. However, within our congregations there are many in the Body of Christ that are experiencing the same emotional ups and downs that are experienced by the world. Sadly, too many believers are walking in fear and anxiety! I submit to you, it is due to not walking in our covenant. To be more specific, we are not walking in the mindset of Christ.

"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." (Col.3:1-2)

When our minds are set on things above, we will experience the comfort, peace and tranquility that is part of our inheritance in Christ Jesus. However, it is an act of our will. We can prevent our minds from being overtaken by fear and anxiety.

It is inevitable that we will encounter the affairs of this life and the issues of the world. But, focusing on the way these things could negatively impact our lives will cause fear and anxiety. Jesus said not to focus on things that make you anxious. When we seek God’s way of handling issues, the Spirit of God will give us direction on how to properly respond and deal with them.
LOVE GIFT
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God". (Rom.12:2)

The scripture makes it clear that the renewal of our minds is ongoing, not a one-time transaction. No matter how developed our faith may be, we cannot deviate from renewing our minds. It requires us to exercise discipline in our thoughts and actions. It also requires that we do not focus our minds on the mistakes and mess ups of the past. The enemy wants you to remember these things and he will bring them up again and again to harass you and ultimately defeat you. However, you must make the choice to do what the Word of God says to maintain a sound mind.

". . . forgetting those things that are behind, reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Phil.3:13-14)

The believer has a covenant right to be free of turmoil. However, your control of the turmoil depends on a disciplined mind that chooses to confess what the word of God says about the turmoil, not what the world says about it. Whatever you meditate on is what you will confess when turmoil arises. That is why it is essential that the believer meditates on the word of God day and night (Joshua 1:8) so that he can re-route his thoughts to confessing the word and not the problem, when issues arise.

As children of God, we have a secret weapon: our heavenly language. We need to choose to build ourselves up in our most holy faith (Jude 20) at all times. After having done this, we need to be quiet so that we can hear God’s response to the problem. When we do this, it is inevitable that we will walk in the victory that Christ has already won for us.

When you sow your gift in faith, you are putting the law of sowing and reaping into motion in your life and you are enabling God to make all grace abound toward you. This truth will transform your life - I know, because it transformed mine!

In the Service of the King,
Pastor Fred Price, Jr.

PS: The Scriptures teach that Our Heavenly Father blesses us in part so that we may in turn be a blessing to others. You cannot give what you do not have, but out of what you do have. It is important to give as you purpose in your heart so that His work has the resources to flourish. My wife and I appreciate both your prayers and financial support as well as your friendship and we look forward to hearing from you today.
