Dear Friend,
Greetings in the matchless name of Jesus!
It is vital to our existence as Believers, that we know the parameters and guidelines of exactly how to pray because prayer is our pipeline to heaven. The most important initial request we can ask for in prayer, is for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. It’s only the Spirit of God that can lead us into all truth. He is available to fill all Believers who ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13, John 16:13).
When we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and receive authority that trumps the devil’s authority and ability. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we then obtain a boldness and ability with full confidence, to operate in that authority. In other words, we have power over the power of the enemy (Acts 1:8)!
In fact, our born-again spirit is already perfected, eternal and saved so our spirit doesn’t need to be guarded. Our soul, on the other hand, is not saved. Therefore, it’s our individual responsibility to guard our heart, which is where our spirit and soul reside. We can’t allow our soul to be infiltrated with sinful thoughts, or our spirit will be hindered from functioning as God intended us to function. That is why Proverbs 4:23 admonishes us to guard our hearts. When we allow Satan’s ideas to infiltrate our soul negatively, our flesh is okay with that because our flesh isn’t saved and therefore wants to be the influencer of our souls.
As I mentioned above, our prayers are our pipeline to God, so it is crucial that we are biblically skillful in how to pray so our prayers can be productive! Prayer requires that we open our mouths and say something. Entreating the Lord by “asking” something of Him with audible words, is required, and to pray is actually a form of worship!
One of the models of productive prayer is outlined in Philippians 4:6-7. It addresses anxiety/stress and worry and tells us to not allow it to fester but instead to pray and tell God what we need! Then it tells us to thank God with a grateful heart of thanksgiving.

We are grateful because we know that if we prayed according to God’s will, He heard us and will grant us the petitions we asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15). Afterwards (and even when we pray), we must discipline ourselves to tell ungodly thoughts of worry and doubt, to be cast down, and remind ourselves that if we have already prayed about a situation, God heard us (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Philippians 4:7 tells us that after having prayed through all our concerns, needs and desires, with thanksgiving, we will then experience a supernatural peace. This is a God kind of peace that comes upon us in the midst of current trials, tests, and tribulations.
To that end, I offer you Productive Petitions, a 4-part teaching on the prayer of faith – the key to receiving what you need or desire from Our Heavenly Father. It is yours for a love gift of any amount in support of this ministry.
This teaching will help you understand and know what a true petition prayer is, so that you will be confident that what you asked God for, you will receive.
Remember, God’s richest and best will be yours as you seek HIM first.
In the service of the King,

PS: Remember child of God, that the only burden we should be bearing is the yoke of Jesus, which is light and easy so we can more effectively carry on with Kingdom business until our requests come into fruition (Matthew 11:30). Thank you in advance for taking advantage of this opportunity to build yourself up in your prayer life, and your ongoing support of Ever Increasing Faith Ministries.
