Dear Friend,

Are you concerned about the future of our youth? Are you fervently praying for them?

One can see there is a rebellious spirit that is prevalent in “Gen Z” and “Next Gen,” and it is of the devil; however, the hand of God is on them as well! That is why the devil is greatly contending for them and influencing their display of rebellion, simultaneously trying to intimidate seasoned Believers into remaining silent instead of boldly sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. [Gen Z refers to 14- to 29-year-olds, and Next Gen refers to children - emerging adults in their 20’s].

Many Evangelical leaders believe Gen Z may be the most spiritually challenged generation in modern Western history, yet they are also among the most spiritually curious. So why are we holding back from sharing salvation and the power of Christ with them? Didn’t Jesus say in Mark 16:17 that signs will follow those who believe - that in His Name we will cast out demons, speak with new tongues, and lay hands on the sick IN JESUS’ NAME, and they will recover.

AUTHENTIC SPIRITUALITY is what this generation is looking for, something more powerful, beautiful, and life-giving - rather than the counterfeit offered by Satan’s kingdom. Our youth have been blinded by deception, and it is our privilege to show them the far greater Kingdom of God.

Despite negative reports, there is great reason for hope. Youth revivals are breaking out on campuses. Thousands are responding to altar calls, and waterfront baptism events are drawing thousands of young people eager to publicly follow Christ. The harvest is ready. But as Romans 10:14 reminds us, how can they believe if no one tells them that our Messiah died for them?
LOVE GIFT
Many “Next Gen” are trapped in a digital world that fuels isolation, anxiety, depression, and addiction. Yet when they encounter genuine Christian fellowship, authentic love, and the presence of God, they discover something far greater than social media, video games, and AI. Jesus is the answer to everyone’s traumas, and the suicide rates we are seeing in record numbers - especially among our youth.

Though, according to today’s youth, morality is subjective and identity is self-defined, we must reach out to “Next Gen” with sensitivity, intentionality, and compassion, knowing that Jesus is the answer to all their questions, physical and emotional pains, and needs.

We must disciple our youth to become leaders who will reach their own generation. We need to support youth and campus ministries, student-led evangelistic movements, and provide small group fellowships to foster meaningful relationships that let them know they are “seen.” Let’s show them that Jesus is Lord through the power of God, as we seek the Holy Spirit to work through us. They need to know that Jesus heals the brokenhearted, and He is the [only] Way, the [only] Truth, and the only giver of an abundant life!

In closing, our youth need opportunities for missions work and community outreach to provide them with positive adventures and the personal spiritual experiences they are seeking. These are avenues for them to enjoy social interaction with each other and demonstrate their leadership while working together in unity on projects that change lives and have eternal impact.

Let us repent if we have spoken negatively about this generation. They need to be welcomed, included, loved and celebrated - not merely tolerated. Jesus said the world will know us by our LOVE one for another. May all churches be places where ALL are celebrated. Our youth are our mission. Let us continue to pray for them, believe in them, invest in them, and boldly share the hope that is found, only in Jesus our Lord.

In the service of the King,
Dr. Frederick K. Price
