The Salvation Package
Pastor L. Craig Hays

For many years I have observed the children of the Most High God, who are supposed to be saved, live their lives at a level that is lower than the standard that the Word of God has set for them to live and operate.

Why would God redeem His people and then expect them to live at the very bottom scale in life—unable to manage a stable life for themselves and their families? He would not!  This is not to shame people for their present standard of living but to raise the bar—to elevate God’s people so that the world will see how God has blessed them.

God wants all of His children to flow in His wisdom and understanding so that your present living standard is raised to a higher level. Even if you are living very well, you will strive to live even higher. Regardless of your age or color, you will live better.

Born-again: what does that mean?

Recipe of the Month: Ardena’s Sweet Potato Crème Pie

    4 large Yams
    2 Deep-dish Pie Crust Shells
    3 Eggs
    3/4 Cups Sugar
    1 stick Butter (room temperature)
    Sweet Condensed Milk
8 oz Cream Cheese (room temperature)
    2 tbsp Vanilla
    1 tbsp Lemon (fresh lemon)
2 tbsp Cinnamon (to your taste)
1 tsp Nutmeg (to your taste)
    1/2 tsp Coconut Flavor (optional)
    Mace (optional)
    1/2 tsp Salt

This recipe is for two pies. Boil or bake yams (if you boil them place sliced lemons in the
water (helps keep orange color and adds flavor to yams) and cook yams until tender.  If you bake yams, preheat oven to 350 degrees and wrap the yams individually in foil and bake until tender (both methods approximately 35-45 minutes).  Allow yams to cool down (warm), peel, cut off ends and place in large mixing bowl. Stir in dry ingredients (cinnamon, nutmeg, mace and salt and stir. Cream the butter, sugar, and then add cream cheese and sweet condensed milk in separate bowl. Then add to yam mixture. Stir in well-beaten eggs. Add lemon, coconut and vanilla one at a time (important).  Now that all ingredients are in your mixing bowl blend well using mixer for approximately one minute. When removing the mixer you should see some of the strings from the yams. This procedure helps you to remove some of the strings. Also always taste your mixture as you add ingredients, making your own adjustments to get the taste you desire.

Butter your uncooked pie crust shells and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Pre-bake approximately 5 minutes. Remove from oven and place sweet potato crème mixture in pie shells and bake at 350 degrees approximately 35-45 minutes. Allow to cool before serving or place in refrigerator once cool over night for more firm pies.
