Wealth for the Believer
 By Pastor Robert E. Bolden

"And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is in this day." - Deuteronomy 8:18

We must keep the faith when it comes to on the Word of God that speaks on prosperity, wealth, finances and abundance.  The Word of God is clear on all these subjects and it takes strong faith on the part of the teacher to keep this information before God’s people.

The devil has cleverly and systematically tried to convince the body of Christ that we should not have abundance, wealth or excess. We see in the Word that God is pleased when His servants prosper (Psalms 35:27).   The Hebrew word translated here as prosperity is loaded with meaning: safety, wellness, happiness, healthiness, peacefulness. In fact this word is translated “peace” and when your needs are met you know that you are at peace.

Prosperity comes in many different forms. There is social prosperity, mental prosperity and professional prosperity when God blesses the work you are doing on your job or business.

CRENSHAW CHRISTIAN CENTER IS GOING GREEN - "Saving lives while saving the environment."

What we are doing:

  • FKCP currently recycles plastic bottles and newspapers
  • 5S is our starting point by reducing the amount of paper we use.
  • Using electronic filing for our copyrights which cuts down of lots of paper.
So far, all the paper products we are receiving from Spectrum are recycled paper. Also, all the chemicals they are using are "green." They are working on a list for us.

What we should do:
  • Please visit this link for more info www.energystar.gov/congregations
  • Solar panels over the garage to power the warehouse
  • Strategically placing official recycling receptacles throughout the campus. Once we determine how much we want to recycle (aluminum, glass, paper, plastic, etc.), it’s just a matter of publishing a Policy & Procedure on Q-Pulse, placing the receptacles, informing the CCC staff and determining how we want the recyclables collected. One major item still not completed is the large generator behind the YAC. We still need to purchase a new generator that is in compliance with AQMD (Air Quality Management District) standards.
  • Energy Star, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency program, will label our buildings with an Energy Star plaque, similar to the one below, based on our ability to meet certain specifications and performance standards with respect to energy usage and emissions. It’s called Energy Star for Congregations. We could start working a plan to qualify one building at a time until they are all recognized.

Highlighting the Photography/Video Special Interest Group - By Camile Dudley

The Photography/Video group is one of thirteen CCC Special Interest Groups formed in 2009 to promote fellowship, unity and growth among members of Crenshaw Christian Center. The Photography/Video group provides an outlet for those that are interested in sharing and showcasing their knowledge, skills and talent through photography and video.

This group is also an opportunity for members to work on special projects that can be used to promote Crenshaw Christian Center such as the 2010 Calendar which showcased many of the auxiliaries of Helps Ministry. Because of the popularity of the 2010 calendar, a request has been made for the Photography/Video group to produce a calendar for 2011. So when you see members taking pictures around the church and at various events, it may be for the 2011 calendar.

The Daily Grill restaurant recently had a contest giving the general public an opportunity to produce and submit a commercial to them. One of the group members, Cindy Merida, submitted a commercial and although she was not one of the top winners she did receive a $10.00 gift certificate for participating. Grand prize for the top commercials was $4,000, 1st Place was $2,000 and 2nd Place was $1,000. The winning commercials can be seen at www.thedailygrill.com. We have plans to do more of these projects as a group in the near future.

Also some of the members of the Photography/Video group are currently working along with Highways and Byways to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to be used as a recruitment tool that shows the importance of the auxiliary and what they do.

The Photo/Video group is open to all skill levels from someone desiring to purchase their first camera to the skilled professional. We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month in the fellowship center Annex, at 7PM Everyone enjoys sharing their knowledge and learning new skills, so if you would like good fellowship and a fun experience, join us at our next meeting.
