The Consequence of Decision
By Minister Alice Gier

The position that you are in both circumstantially and spiritually is a direct result of the decisions you have made.  Good, bad, indifferent, independent or corporate—the decisions you have made have placed you where you are NOW.  The significance about decision is that it is strictly yours—whether the outcome is good or bad—you can’t blame anyone else but yourself.  Also, many times bad or wrong decisions can be traced directly to selfishness.  The greater issue is the effect your decision has on those around you, your family, your Church, your community, your nation and world.

A key example of the result of decision is that of Adam in the garden.  One of the initial outcomes of his decision was God asking the question, “Where are you?”  (Genesis 3:9)  God’s question shows that Adam was out of God’s plan both in circumstance (hiding from God’s presence—Genesis 3:8) and spiritually (disobedient to God’s command—Genesis 2:16, 17).  The mere fact that Adam and Eve were hiding from God shows that they made a bad decision.  The larger result from what seemed a personal and isolated decision is that it placed all humankind into a place of sin.  One decision from a man, one decision from a woman moved them outside the garden, separated them from the life and nature of God and threw the whole world into sin—under the curse.  So our decisions, even those that seem minor, can have far-reaching results.

Crenshaw Kids – Church for the Younger Generation

Crenshaw Kidz is for children grades K-4th grade.  We meet each Sunday in the Main Auditorium. Our services include very exciting Praise and Worship, interactive Bible Lessons, hands on Life Application activities and FUN!

In addition, each month the children are introduced to different Character Value.  Values such as honesty, respect, courage and patience are imparted in a practical way helping children to treat others right, make good choices, and have great success. September’s Character Word is Honesty.  We teach the kids that Honesty is always being truthful, reliable and fair.  Once a month each child receives a poster to place on their refrigerator with the Character Word and its definition.

Every Tuesday night in September we are exploring the life of Moses. We also provide parents with a monthly newsletter to give them an overview of the lessons and activities.

Finally, we have monthly contest.  The contests are created to train children to evangelize in a fun way.  For the month of September we are having Family and Friends Contest where kids are encouraged to invite a friend or family member to church. The child who brings the most guest is the winner.  The winner of the contest will receive a $100 gift card to Toys R Us.  Every child that invites a friend or family member to church will enter a drawing to win a $50.00 gift card to Toys R Us.

Resurrection From the Dead
By Timothy Holland

Pastor Larry Matteson- AFPMTC Schools Director, always says that Christians should be sensitive to the needs of humanity and extend themselves to the degree that we are amongst all type of people—both believers and unbelievers. We should be representing God to them and be in between God and them as His intercessors and priest in society, work publicly, and play and leisure in our homes privately.

Interestingly, I had already made a decision to be proactive and attend to my elderly dad, Clinton Holland Sr., when other family members for one reason or the other, neglected to care for him. I thank God that I was there on April 30, 2010 at around midnight. With the help of a 911 call and the Inglewood emergency paramedics, we where able to admit my dad to Centinela Hospital to get administered the help necessary for his complete recovery from a heart attack. However, what I am testifying to is what happened before the 911 operator was called.

Member Spotlight: Dr. Michelle McIntosh

Last month, Dr. Michelle McIntosh was ordained by Pastor Fred Price. A member of Crenshaw Christian Center for nearly 20 years, Michelle and her husband John McIntosh are both MAP ministers. She is a graduate of the Ministry Training Institute and Total Word Concept Institute located in Inglewood, CA.

It was at that Bible Study, more than 30 years ago, that she made the decision to come to Christ.

"The teacher has been teaching on faith, the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues," recalls Michelle. "At the end of the service, they did the altar call and I decided I wanted it all—I wanted to speak in tongues. I was the only one that answered the call that day."

Sure enough she got it all. "That same day, I started to prophesy and lay hands on the sick. People lined up to receive healing. I knew from that day that I would one day be doing ministry full time."

She and her husband founded Agape Christian Ministries International, a nonprofit Christian organization, where they minister on the mission field. This month, Michelle will be in South Wales and England spreading the Gospel. When she’s not on the mission field, she serves as the chaplain for Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall and leads a women’s Bible study every other Wednesday.
